I love all things STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math)! I fell in love with numbers at a young age and now have a Master's degree in mathematics. Teaching was one of my favorite ways to share my love of numbers with others, and now I hope my stories do the same.

A magical soybean field in Kansas is where I grew up. Those few acres of farmland would become as enchanting as the wilds of Narnia and as adventure-filled as the woods of Mossflower. My chickens (all named Steve) and a romping rat terrier were my constant companions.

I have an identical twin sister! Being called the wrong name my entire life is likely why I love writing stories that give the youngest readers a feeling of belonging and individuality.

The only time I've ever been on an airplane was a thirteen-hour flight to Seoul, South Korea for a study abroad experience. My own two children are the inspiration for my stories. Experiencing the wonder of the world through their eyes makes me never want to grow up! Bringing words to life for them is one of my greatest joys.
